Business Development Lead

Today, we’re ready to add a Business Development Lead for our Department of Veteran’s Affairs account.  As a Business Development Lead, you will actively participate in account planning and expansion strategies. You will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of both the VA landscape and Veracity’s Services with the goal of bringing our services to the VA to create positive digital experiences for our Veterans.

What you will do:

  • Lead in expanding Veracity’s brand and cross-selling Veracity services to the VA and target primes
  • Develop and execute VA growth strategy
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with Clients, Primes and Internal Veracity leadership
  • Position Veracity for qualified opportunities before opportunity is active
  • Engage potential business partners (primes) to learn more about their vision for VA to capture and position Veracity for business growth
  • Lead and mentor delivery staff/SMEs on business development initiatives, particularly captures and proposal development focused on the Veracity value proposition
  • Actively seek to understand VA trends to help position against competitors
  • Represent Veracity during VA targeted Marketing or Partner Events
  • Maintain a working knowledge of government contracts and general proposal requirements
  • Analyze, review and track short and long-term leads through review of government budget documents, industry day engagements, networking and agency presentations
  • Collaborate with proposal team and other Veracity teammates to develop compliant proposals that clearly articulate a winning strategy, compelling solutions and substantiated themes that address RFP requirements
  • Independently define, schedule and manage the proposal preparation process, including identifying details and staffing requirements
  • Coordinate and maintain the internal flow and review of all proposal inputs and outputs
  • Work with the team to resolve comments before moving to next scheduled milestone
  • Leverage interpersonal and interviewing skills to gather needed information from proposal team members and operations personnel Research and synthesize information from multiple sources into a cohesive, easy-to-read, and persuasive final product
  • Review content for completeness, accuracy and language use and revise the proposal to meet predetermined standards of style and accuracy
  • Manage multiple proposal assignments and prioritize to meet strict submission guidelines

What we would like to see:

  • At least 4 years of experience with selling and delivering software applications and capacity-based work
  • Must have 4 years’ recent experience defining and shaping work at the department of Veteran’s Affairs
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with partner consultancies as a prime or subcontractor in the Federal government ecosystem
